AS I LAY DYING Completes 'Nothing Left' Video

July 26, 2007

AS I LAY DYING has just completed shooting the video for "Nothing Left", the first single off the group's new album, "An Ocean Between Us". The new CD is due in stores on August 21, 2007.

The bleak, futuristic clip was shot in Van Nuys, California at Sound City Studios with Brian Thompson (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, ANGELS & AIRWAVES) lending his directorial talents. "The high concept storyline mixed with the bands ripping performance should make this video a metal favorite," says Thompson.

The story, which was conceived as a collaboration between the band and Thompson, follows a female character through a series of events which takes place within a decaying, future landscape.

Commented guitarist Nick Hipa: "The concept of our new video is conceptually akin to books like 'The Scarlet Letter', while visually it is influenced by the idea of post- apocalyptic dystopian societies as seen in films like 'Blade Runner' and '1984'. There's going to be dudes with machine guns and gas masks, so already its one of my favorite videos we've ever done."
